| We only guarantee safe and secure transport of properly packaged,
sealed and addressed consignments,
packaging is a crucial operation in the shipping process. The packaging must
perform the following 4 functions: 1. Outer and Inner packaging (Integrity of value): The packaging must protect the consignment from the effects of movement, pressure and loading during shipment. Packaging has to be chosen or worked out the way that the contents should fill it completely, so after closing the contents will be safe and stable inside. Filling material such as paper, clothing or stuffing can also be used if needed. This is specially important when packaging fragile item, where the item itself has to be individually wrapped inside the packaging as well. The proper packing of fragile items which ensures their damage-free shipment is crucial. 2. Sealing (Preservation of value): The packaging must ensure that the package's contents cannot be accessed by unauthorized persons. An intact packaging confirms that the consignment has reached its destination with its original contents. Therefore, the packaging must always be enclosed, possess a continuous surface and be resistant to impacts during transit. If there are signs of damage on the packaging, the consignment's contents should be checked on acceptance! 3. Addressing (Identification): The packaging ensures the identification of the consignment. The package must bear both the sender's and the addressee's details (Full name and address) visibly, legibly and indelibly throughout transit. They must resist the effects of movement, pressure and loading during shipment. 4. Content guarantee (Assemblage): The sender must declare the content and value of the consignment and that it does not contain items whose transportation is prohibited or illegal. The Sender shall bear all associated legal consequences if a false declaration is made. How to prepare a bicycle for shipping: We also prefer bicycles to be boxed up. If this is not possible the bicycle at least should be made flat, so the handle bar should be turned to the frame, the pedals and other accesories (child seat, basket, lamps etc.) have to be removed and placed in a separate box for shipping. It has to be clean and the oily parts of chain drive have to be wrapped in foil. This procedure makes the shipping easier, and prevent the damage of other packages. |

Generally the rules below have to realized for the packaging of every consignment: Basic rule I.: If obvious damage cannot be realized on the packaging of the consignment upon delivery (with general survey) when signing the consignment note, contents cannot be damaged. If otherwise content suffers any damage, the packinging was not suitable! Basic rule II.: Unwrapped or not suitably packaged consignments can only be shipped on the senders full responsibility. Basic rule III.: Consignments with a fragile marking can only be shipped in cardboard boxes, if Basic rule I. is realized. Otherwise we cannot take responsibility for any damage of the fragile contents. Important to know! Upon the pickup of parcels our Couriers often see the checked nylon Chinese bags. These bags are made for delivering clothes up to 20kgs apart from their sizes. We can only take over such bags for delivery, if the contents are only clothes, and the weight does not exceed the 20 kg limit, otherwise the shipment can only be delivered at the senders full responsibility. |
